In October 2017, the logging of real-time trading data for Chainlink launched on coinmarketcap.com.
This section presents the quarterly averages (trimester) for trading volume, market capitalization and trading price for 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Trading Volume & Market Capitalization
For example, the average trading volume of Chainlink during the first trimester of 2019 was nearly US$ 7.5 m per day. Over the same time frame in the previous year, this figure came to nearly nine m. The corresponding drop down in trading volume equated to 16.4 percent.
For the first trimester of 2019, the average market capitalization was over US$ 157 m. This figure came to nearly US$ 224 m during the same period in the previous year. The corresponding drop down in market capitalization was 29.6 percent.
The average trading price during the first trimester of 2019 equated to nearly US$ 0.47. In the same time frame of 2018, this figure came to just above US$ 0.70. The corresponding price drop down equated to 33.4 percent.
The all-time high of Chainlink in 2020
The price of the Chainlink currency climbed to a high in August 2020 at nearly US$ 19.9. At this trading price, the token reached a market capitalization of nearly US$ 6.6 billion. This put Chainlink in the ballpark of certain other digital currencies, such as Bitcoin Cash.
Chainlinks all-time high compared to Bitcoin and the most renowned companies worldwide
Bitcoin, by far the largest cryptocurrency at the time, had a market capitalization of US$ 220 billion on that day. Apple Inc., one of the most highly valued brands in the world, stood at US$ 1965 billion. And Volkswagen AG, the world’s largest vehicle manufacturer as of 2018, at US$ 89 billion.
