Trading Volume & Market Capitalization
For example, Pillar had an average trading volume of over ten k per day for the first trimester of 2019. This figure came to just under US$ 592 k during the same period in 2018. In other words, the previous/prior volume growth has almost entirely receded.
The average market capitalization during the first trimester of 2019 was over US$ 9.1 m. This figure came to over US$ 203 m during the same time frame the year before. The corresponding drop down in market capitalization equated to 95.5 percent.
Trading Price
The average trading price in the first trimester of 2019 equated to US$ 0.037846. In the same time frame of 2018, this figure came to nearly one. The corresponding downward price retracement equated to 96.1 percent.
The all-time high of Pillar in 2018
The price of the Pillar currency reached a high in January 2018 at US$ 1.83. The equivalent market capitalization of the token reached just under US$ 299 million. This put Pillar in the ballpark of certain other digital currencies, such as Bytom, ZClassic, FunFair, Cindicator and Dent, among others.
Pillars all-time high compared to Bitcoin and the most renowned companies worldwide
Bitcoin, by far the largest cryptocurrency at the time, had a market capitalization of US$ 170 billion on that day. Apple Inc., one of the most highly valued brands in the world, stood at US$ 849 billion. And Volkswagen AG, the world’s largest vehicle manufacturer as of 2018, at US$ 112 billion.

March 2019: an interesting date following the big cryptocurrency crash
On 1 March 2019, the price of Pillar stood at US$ 0.028577 with a market capitalization of nearly US$ 7.3 million. Compared with the peak trading price stated above, this represents a retracement down to approximately 1.6 percent.
Around that time, Ethereum dropped to about 9.7 and Bitcoin to approximately 19.5 percent of their all-time-high trading prices.
