PRIZM was introduced by the user shmeall via bitcointalk.org on 20 April 2017. coinmarketcap.com subsequently began the collection of real-time trading data in June 2017.

This section presents the quarterly averages (trimester) for trading volume, market capitalization and trading price for 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Trading Volume & Market Capitalization
For example, PRIZM had an average trading volume of just under twenty-one k per day for the first trimester of 2019. Over the same period in the previous year, this figure came to over fourteen k. The trading volume increased by 46.3 percent accordingly.
For the first trimester of 2019, the average market capitalization was nearly sixteen m. This figure came to over US$ 13.2 m during the same time frame in 2018. Market capitalization increased by 20.8 percent accordingly.
Trading Price
The average trading price during the first trimester of 2019 equated to nearly US$ 0.23. In the same time frame of 2018, this figure came to nearly one. The price dropped accordingly by 77.2 percent.
The all-time high of PRIZM in 2017
The PRIZM currency climbed to a high in August 2017 at US$ 2.89. The equivalent market capitalization of the coin reached over US$ 23 million. This put PRIZM around certain other digital currencies, such as Namecoin, SONM, Mysterium, Santiment Network Token and Crown, among others.
PRIZMs all-time high compared to Bitcoin and the most renowned companies worldwide
Bitcoin, by far the largest cryptocurrency at the time, had a market capitalization of US$ 75 billion on that day. Apple Inc., one of the most highly valued brands in the world, stood at US$ 852 billion. And Volkswagen AG, the world’s largest vehicle manufacturer as of 2018, at US$ 78 billion.

March 2019: an interesting date following the big cryptocurrency crash
On 1 March 2019, the price of PRIZM stood at just under US$ 0.23 with a market capitalization of nearly US$ 17.3 million. In comparison with the highest trading price described above, this represents a drop down to approximately 8 percent.
Around that time, Ethereum dropped to about 9.7 and Bitcoin to approximately 19.5 percent of their all-time-high trading prices.
